Camera Electronic has Drobo available for Western Australia.

Hard drives die - eventually they either spin uselessly or don't spin at all. When that happens, all the images on them are locked away. Either you bin them or pay a specialist firm BIG money to recover them.

Ask me. I know. My external storage drive, a little -- ---, went wrong in just 2 years – and it was not even full. Thankfully it wobbled and whined and I suspected the worst before it finally died, so I hooked up a DROBO, left it for a week to shift the files, and rescued all my photos.

DROBO is the ideal management and safety tool for image banks - it is dead easy to use, and the setup is very simple. My DROBO is currently configured for a small amount of memory but all I need to do to boost it up to 5 times the current capacity is just slide new hard drives into it and it will accept and use them.

Best of all, when any of the drives start to fail in old age, the DROBO alerts me well in advance and safeguards the images until a new drive is in place. I sleep sound!
