This NiSi 150mm Starter Filter Kit includes three 150mm-wide filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your photography by preventing overexposure.
To place these filters in front of a lens, a separately available NiSi 150mm filter holder which is compatible with that lens may be used. Each filter is constructed from optical glass and measures 2mm thick.
A leatherette pouch is included for storage and transport, as well as a microfiber cleaning cloth and a carbon-compound cleaning eraser to maintain the clarity of the filters' surfaces.
150 x 170mm Nano Soft-Edge Graduated IRND 0.9 Filter (3-Stop)
The NiSi 150 x 170mm Nano Soft-Edge Graduated IRND 0.9 Filter is a rectangular filter that helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and this filter provides up to a 3-stop reduction in light from entering the lens.
The design of this filter has been optimised for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, colour casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide a high level of neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate colour casts and ensure a cleaner, truer blacks when using the NiSi 150 x 170mm Nano Soft-Edge Graduated IRND 0.9 Filter, one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating is applied to each of this filter's surfaces. The Nano coating associated with this filter also results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency.

150 x 150mm Nano IRND 1.8 Filter (6-Stop)
The NiSi 150 x 150mm Nano IRND 1.8 Filter is an ND filter with a 64x filter factor that provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control a depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

150 x 150mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter (10-Stop)
The NiSi 150 x 150mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter is an ND filter with a 1,000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control a depth of field and convey movement more easily.
