907X & CFV 100C A Trifecta of Imaging Possibilities Overview

on January 25, 2024

Honouring the extraordinary with a touch of classic, the 907X & CFV 100C combines an iconic design with exquisite craftsmanship. A fusion of modular design and advanced technologies offers three distinctly different photographic abilities, presenting the most compatible Hasselblad 100-megapixel medium format camera to date.1 Thanks to its vintage body and deep heritage, the 907X & CFV 100C can align film and digital photography, integrating the classical with the contemporary - neither severing ties with the future nor bidding farewell to the past. With a press of the shutter, time solidifies in your hand, turning fleeting moments into forever.

A Timeless Masterpiece, Delighting the Senses

Echoing the unique waist-level shooting style of Hasselblad film cameras, the 907X & CFV 100C features a touch display that can be flipped upward to 40° and 90°. The 40° tilt enables a lower observation perspective for your composition. The 90° tilt fully revives the classic waist-level shooting style. These unparalleled perspectives plunge you into an undisturbed flow of creativity, spurring cascades of inspiration and turning the act of creation into pure pleasure. As you clutch the camera, time begins to soften its pace.

Pairing the 907X medium format camera body with the CFV 100C medium format digital back results in a weight of only 620g. With an 120g reduction compared to its predecessor, it strikes an ideal balance of lightweight design and premium texture. The characteristic design stimulates boundless imagination, positioning the 907X & CFV 100C as a medium for exploring photographic art and also as the embodiment of art itself.

The choice of eco-leather cover with chrome edges creates a synthesis of suppleness and rigidity, letting the 907X & CFV 100C emanate a unique elegance.

One Camera, Three Applications, Endless Inspiration

Inherited from the classic design of 1948, modular design has forged legends across generations of medium-format cameras. Today, it elevates the 907X & CFV 100C to a new height as the most compatible Hasselblad medium format camera 1, pioneering the era in iterations.

The detachable CFV 100C digital back integrates three kinds of photographic configurations in one, blending playfulness with professionalism.

907X Camera Body

When the CFV 100C connects with its custom-tailored 907X camera body, you can flexibly couple it with various high-performance XCD Series lenses. Through lens adapters, it can also be used with the HC/HCD, V, and XPAN Series lenses to exhibit Hasselblad’s longstanding optical heritage in all its glory, expanding the realm of creativity.

Hasselblad V System Film Cameras

The CFV 100C supports integration with the Hasselblad V System’s 500 Series, 200 Series, and other classic film cameras.2 This integration allows these film camera bodies to capture digital imagery, breathing new life into these classics right before your eyes.

Technical Cameras

The CFV 100C can be paired with technical cameras to capture images of elevated precision.2

100MP - Capturing Stunning Landscapes

Utilising a 100-megapixel medium format back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor, the CFV 100C delivers unparalleled image quality. With 15 stops of dynamic range, more highlight and shadow details can be retained. A native ISO of down to 64 exhibits delicate, pure, and transparent image quality. Over 281 trillion colours are represented with the 16-bit colour depth for natural, smooth colour gradations, vividly reproducing vast landscapes.

Whether capturing grand, distant landscapes or delving into minute details, you’re in full control. Even if an initial composition is less than ideal, subsequent cropping during post-production will still retain bountiful details, immortalising each beautiful moment effectively.

Perceptive to Nature, True to Its Colours

The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) optimises colours to appear authentically and naturally with smoother and more delicate transitions, perfectly restoring the colourful world as seen by the human eye with the press of the shutter.

When the CFV 100C digital back is paired with classic film cameras like the Hasselblad V system’s 500 Series, 200 Series, and beyond, HNCS also faithfully displays the unique charm of each film camera lens. It transcends time and space, reproducing the splendour of the film photography era.

Capture Life With Fast Focusing

The 907X & CFV 100C, equipped with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), crisply delineates the scene, delivering an agile focusing experience. With 294 PDAF zones spread over the 100-megapixel sensor surface, the focusing speed has increased by approximately 300% compared with the previous generation. 3 Moreover, a new face detection function facilitates more efficient and convenient portrait shooting, helping frame each story perfectly.

Efficient Creation, Reliable Output

The 907X & CFV 100C features a built-in 1TB SSD with a write speed of up to 2370MB/s and a read speed of up to 2850MB/s 4. This supplies the storage demand that high-quality imaging requires, while the CFexpress Type B card slot allows for storage expansion 5.

By adding the 907X Control Grip and Optical Viewfinder, you can further expand the camera’s photographic capabilities to meet various shooting requirements in different scenarios.

The new hot shoe adaptor can be utilised for flash accessories. An on-camera flash or a professional flash trigger can be installed onto the CFV 100C via the hot shoe adaptor for high-speed flash synchronisation 6.

Link the 907X & CFV 100C with an iPad or iPhone via built-in Wi-Fi to transmit full-size JPG/RAW images using Phocus Mobile 2 7. Moreover, this allows editing and output of high-quality RAW images that fully utilise the abilities of HNCS, and enables masterpieces to be created and shared effortlessly outside the studio.

  1. As of January 2024.
  2. When the CFV 100C digital back is used with these cameras, it only supports manual focus.
  3. The increase in focusing speed between the 907X & CFV 100C and 907X & CFV II 50C was measured using an XCD 55V lens and according to the CIPA DCG-002 test standard.
  4. The sequential read/write speed was measured using IOmeter 1.1 with a queue depth of 32 while set to 128KB alignment.
  5. It is recommended to use the following CFexpress Type B memory cards for optimal storage performance:

Sony CEB-G Series CFexpress Type B Memory Card (128GB).
