The Big Guns And The Little Gun

If you are an experienced videographer who makes world-renowned productions that screen everywhere- please give your attention to the heading image. Camera Electronic and Canon would like to talk to you and when you see how good the images are from the cameras and lenses they make, you will wish to talk to them.

For the rest of us - the little folks who watch "YouBook" and "InstaTok" until we are bursting to go on screen ourselves, there is a smaller option: the new Canon PowerShot V-10 vlogging camera.

Tiny, self contained, able to connect to numerous devices and internet streams, and simple enough to use, this camera means you can communicate world wide without having to be the experienced videographer.

It looks through a fixed lens - 19mm equivalent onto a 1.0 inch CMOS sensor. It listens to the speaker with two good-sized stereo mics, and presents the user with a folding LCD screen that can either look away from or back onto the presenter. It streams and connects wirelessly - just get your network connection via app - and the operation is by literally pressing one front button.

No slouch in quality, this camera can shoot 4K UHD at 30p. Slow motion also available. But it has a terrible aspect… I makes you look as good as you look - and sound as good as you sound - or not…if you don’t. It doesn’t think for you nor make your ideas any brighter than they already are.

All video can be paused and started again - but it always seems as if it is one step behind us when we are stumbling. If we script for ourselves and time what we present, it gets better. If we light ourselves well ( see the CE range of LED lights ) we give the recording camera a chance.

If we make ourselves look better, and sound better, we can sometimes fool the audience into believing we are better. Those of us who look like Konrad Adenauer just use face putty in the crevices… This camera is a gem - tough and simple and
convenient. Now it’s up to us to be entertaining.
