And cakes, small chocolate bars, and designer coffee. The diet of a weblog writer would horrify a nutritionist…and I suspect that other photographers are not far behind in the race to the bottom. Be honest with yourself and think what you would do upon discovering a day-old cinnamon bun in the studio at 10:00 in the morning…

But no more food - to Fujifilm. Their stand this year was as full as usual with the mirrorless cameras and lenses - both the FX and GFX sizes. These included the new X-T5 and X-S210 - the latter I hope to trial in detail at a later time. This time I was taken by the Instax section - and not just by the pop colours of the plastic-bodied basic models. Fujifilm has done a very clever thing with a new hybrid model.

First to note was the Wide 300 - a physically larger film size and consequently larger camera body. There is a well-shaped hand grip on the right and a viewfinder placed at the northwest corner so that your nose is not pressed flat trying to shoot it. The consequence is steadier shots delivering pictures twice as wide and the Instax mini film.

The appearance is suitably camera-like, lending some gravitas to using it.

For me, however, the real stars of the stand were the hybrid instant film - digital cameras: the Mini Evos in brown or black and brushed chrome.

Here is a chance to take both a 90-second print - if desired - and a file home on a Mini SD card for later storage and manipulation.

They are both shamelessly retro in appearance and operation, but then Fujifilm makes a virtue out of this design trend in nearly all the cameras they produce. It is one reason so many Fujifilm shooters remain loyal to the system.

It does have the modern bells and whistles: selfie mirror, twin shutter buttons,10 lens effects and 10 film styles you can cycle through by turning the lens mount ring and film dial. You might be a purist or you might just find something that’s fun.

Micro SD card slot and charging port on the bottom. Sharp eyes will note the cold shoe slot on top and wonder why - since the LCD does the framing on the back of the camera. If t’were me, I’d pop an albada or mini finder in there and shoot with that.

But that’s only the retro and the sugar cookie talking…
