Shimoda Mirrorless Core Unit - XS25

The Shimoda Mirrorless Extra Small 25 Core Unit was built specifically for our narrower 25L backpack sizes. The XS25 offers more modular carry options for users of Shimoda's 25L packs who want to carry a smaller amount of gear than fits in the S25. This frees up more space for non-photo adventure/survival gear essentials. The XS25 is the smallest Core Unit in the series and is ideal for a body and a lens or two, or for users who have a compact camera body and handful of smaller prime lenses. The side-access port means you can set up your gear configuration to have quick and easy access to a mounted body and lens without needing to put your pack down. This is especially convenient in challenging and uneven terrain, or for wet environments where you need to keep your pack on your body.

We call them Core Units simply because they’re the Core of the Shimoda system. Their modular versatility lets users customize their gear carrying needs with different sized camera inserts for different days, and to get more out of their backpack. The Mirrorless XS25 is ideal for smaller gear needs, but swapping out for one of the two larger 25-series Core Unit options gives you the ability to make a 25L pack "bigger" just by changing to a larger Core Unit.

• MIRRORLESS/DSLR CAMERA FIT - Shimoda Mirrorless-depth Core Units fit non-gripped mirrorless and DSLR cameras up to 12cm tall. The shorter depth leads to a lower profile with your backpack.
• QUICK SIDE CAMERA ACCESS - The XS25 Core Unit integrates seamlessly with the side access in all of Shimoda's 25L backpacks, and its shorter height allows for the storage of more non-photo gear, like clothing layers, food and survival gear.
• NARROW WIDTH - The ML-25 Series Core Unit is specifically designed to fit inside the Action X25, Explore 25 and Urban Explore 25. Both pack and Core Unit are narrower than our larger packs 30L and above. Using a narrower 25L kit allows a more agile pack for more action intense adventure and also a better fit for users with a narrower and smaller torsos.
• LIGHTWEIGHT WATER-RESISTANT & MULTI-PURPOSE SKIN - The included Skin’s primary function is a storage case for the padded Core Units, ideal for when your gear is at home and not in use. It keeps the Core Unit sealed and dust free. Its secondary function is to use as a packing cell. A user can fill it with clothing or other common items and pack it in their backpack or carry-on roller.
• EVA PROVECTIVE SHELL AND DIVIDERS - Walls and dividers are constructed with EVA which ensures much greater protection than cheaper PE foams used in most camera bags. With EVA we have greater control over the density and quality of materials used to protect your gear. It also means our walls can be thinner and use less internal volume while still providing superior protection.
